Politics, labor, social, economic, and racial justice shape the person I’ve become. My passion for these very important subjects has led me to the roles of Black Engagement District Director with the DCCC and Regional Organizing Director for the Indiana State Democratic Party. I began in labor as a union activist for the United Steelworkers, being an active member of the Women of Steel and Next Generation. Through those groups I performed numerous community activities, fought and rallied against unjust labor laws/practices, as well as racial, social and economic injustices. Currently I am looking to work to strengthen the Democratic Party and increase political education in NWI. In 2022, I successfully helped to re-elect Congressman Frank Mrvan during a coordinated campaign. Over a 6 month period I registered 250 voters, thereby increasing the voter population in a very low turn-out area. I managed over 50 volunteers performing phone/text banking, canvassing and voter registration drives. Most recently, in 2024, I worked as the Black Engagement District Director to re-elect Congressman Frank Mrvan for a 3rd time.
