Next Century problems require Next Century solutions. As the Co-Founder and CTO of Next Century Power (NCP), my mission is to provide cost-effective and sustainable electrification solutions for Africa.With over ten years of experience as a Senior Power Systems Engineer in both the electrical engineering field and academia, I specialize in power systems (distribution and transmission) and renewable energy. I hold a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Murdoch University and a Cert IV in Training and Assessment from South Metropolitan TAFE. Additionally, I am a member of IEEE/IES and have numerous publications and certifications in sustainable environment and energy systems.My core competencies include power systems analysis, design, and optimization; control of remote hybrid microgrids with high PV penetration; PV output forecasting using all-sky imager-based techniques; and virtual power plant control to minimize PV curtailment. I have applied these skills in various projects with utility companies, engineering consulting firms, and academia. Notably, I contributed to the ARENA-funded Carnarvon Distributed Energy Resources Trials, collaborating with Horizon Power, DLR (Germany Aerospace Centre , Solar Research) and Murdoch University.My goal is to develop and implement innovative and reliable solutions for the energy sector, focusing on decarbonization, transmission power system reinforcement, renewable energy integration, grid stability, and energy efficiency.
