Its main goals are to promote the Latino and Latin American cultural heritage of New York City and to serve as a venue for communication and collaboration among writers, journalists, artists, and scholars. Since 2006, I have also taught a seminar for undergraduate students on the history of the city’s Latino communities. Responsible for the organization of a series of public lectures featuring renowned authors and cultural personalities Antonio Muñoz Molina, Antonio Skármeta, Francisco Goldman, and former Director of El Museo Del Barrio, Julián Zugazagoitia, among others. Founder and co-curator of the Hispanic New York Film and Video Festival, co-sponsored by Instituto Cervantes, and from 2006 to 2009 also in collaboration with The Film Society of Lincoln Center.Other cultural events organized:- Women’s Voices in a Latino New York, a panel discussion with Esmeralda Santiago.
