Armed with a couple of Nikon camera's I promoted myself as an 'everything except weddings' (EEW) photographer. My first job, by far still the most exciting one, as photographer on a ten-day Scientific Research Expedition, trekking deep in to the jungle and waterways of the Belum-Temenggor Rainforest / Royal Belum State Park. Words can barely describe it, thank goodness I didn't forget my camera. In a nutshell: wild elephants/tigers/eagles, the Jahai (Orang Asli) tribe and their settlements, and all the weird and wonderful flora, fauna and fungi being studied by the local and international scientists. In my dreams I often go back there: my own little 'Apocalypse Now' boat and jungle adventure.On returning to civilisation, I launched a 'mobile' photography studio, and equipped with lighting and backdrops I brought the studio to the client for portraiture. One time in under 3 hours I squeezed in an entire 20 strong family, transforming their living room for individual and group portraits. What a lovely experience, including the free-flow beer.Eventually I launched Fotohiker Studio, located in Desa Sri Hartamas. My friend and renowned costume-designer, Dominique enabled me to set up my studio in the vacant part of her premises, not only did she partition and grant me more than half the space, but also allowed full access to the 1000's of amazing theatre and movie costumes. From models and actors to DJ's and other fascinating people, anyone who came for a Fotohiker session, left feeling as if they'd realised a childhood dream. If they were nervous before a shoot: there was always some liquid stimulus on hand. (See some of the dazzling costumes they got to wear on my website)I also dabbled in a little commercial photography too, for example: Angel champagne, Hotel Ibis, and a CEO Calendar for ISC Innovators.

A few times per month, a selection of agents call upon me to perform as either an extra or featured extra in an array of tv commercials, teledramas, infomercials and movies. Occasionally I go in to production/casting offices for auditions, which I admit is a nerve-wrecking experience that never gets old. To overcome the blues of divorce from a 13 year marriage, I put on my kilt and hitch-hiked across Europe.Eventually I decided to settle for a period of time in the south of France.I took to Facebook and posted a comment that I sought a physical job near the beaches. Within one hour an old friend from my London office days recommended me to her school friend, who worked in agriculture and 2 days later I arrived in Aimargues to begin work as a melon picker.My colleagues consisted mainly of exploited people originating from Ecuador and Romania, and though we were in France, 90% of the team only conversed in Spanish. So I brushed up a considerable amount on that language.It was a truly arduous job, particularly as France experienced a 40 degree heatwave for the first 3 weeks of my time there, and to top it off, the air was very dusty. Backbreaking work is an understatement, include to that the occasional malpractice of chemical enhancers, and my gloves melting, thus affecting my the skin on my fingers, it came as a relief that I survived until the end of the season. It was noted that none of the more experienced pickers, who had done this for decades, had ever seen a British person doing this kind of work.By the time it had concluded I had lost 10kgs in body fat, and felt stronger than I ever had been before in my life.

Self employed owner and manager of a classy one bedroom luxury apartment available all year round and located two blocks from Edinburgh Castle, and within the World Heritage zone, at the very centre of Scotland's greatest city! Duties included marketing online, housekeeping and general maintenance.

To support my then wife, and mother of our two daughters to build her new beautician business, I took on the role of 'house-husband'. Have to admit that to be blessed with the time spent close to my daughters is a unique and fortuitous experience that most men rarely get. And it was not as difficult as most people imagine, with exception to the time when my youngest daughter Penelope had to endure open heart surgery.

Entertaining large (30-50 average) groups of people with stories of history and macabre on the Royal Mile, Edinburgh's famous historical street. I would then lead them down and in to the Underground Vaults of Edinburgh's Old Town, where I proceeded to scare the Dickens out of them in a seriously dark and haunted location.

Offering free samples of whisky to visitors of Edinburgh Castle, entertaining them with tales of Scotland and whisky, then selling them expensive bottles of Scotland's finest malts.Having surpassed all sales targets, I was gifted with a unique training course at the Scottish Whisky Experience centre.

I was engaged as freelance writer and editor from the pre-launch of the 2008 FEI World Horse Endurance Championship coffee-table book, right through to completion of editing.The overall event, which lasted 3 weeks, was sponsored by his majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin. Himself a rider during the actual race.During the event I interviewed horse-riding athletes, horse specialists, organisers and dignitaries alike.Following on from the event I worked closely with the head-photographer, printers and graphic designers (a team of graduates from Lim Kok Wing that I myself enlisted), right through to completion and the launch of the 240+ page book.

Leading a team. Handling of calls from Herbalife Independent Distributors operating in most of the European region, liaising with all the other departments, including those located in Los Angeles. Represented the corporate arm of the company at various events around the world, including Barcelona and Atlanta. Oversaw the installation of a new office in Strasbourg, France. I also became the chairman of the Sports and Social Club Committee during my time there.

Receptionist at Hotel Cheyenne, was my final and most fulfilling job during the time I worked with Mickey Mouse and the gang. Previously I had also worked in Banqueting at the Hotel New York Convention Centre. This was followed by waiter at the Beavers Creek restaurant at the Sequoia Lodge hotel.

Worked two summers as a golf caddy, learning the gift of the gab in the process.

Duties included silver service waitering and banqueting for mainly large functions such as the Teachers whisky company's annual event. Other notable occasions included Burns Supper and Open Golf Championship dinner events.
