FSGP is a track race with 3 days of scrutineering and 3 days of racing, all in the same location. ASC is normally roughly 5 days along a pre-determined route such as the Historic Oregon Trail, or Pony Express. This involves coordinating travel plans for the team, ensuring our vehicle has the proper safety regulations in place for cross-country highway travel, and securing funding for track, travel, and other needs. Ensure safety regulations are met on both the vehicle and in our industrial shop. This includes shop check-ups, safety courses, and ensuring all members are following proper safety guidelines and procedures. Show less

Our currently goal is to place 1st and Formula Sun Grand Prix 2023 in Topeka Kansas, and then complete the American Solar Challenge in 2024. As strategy and software lead, I headed a team of 4 other students who worked on incorporating C++ and Python programming into a strategy system to optimize vehicle charge to ensure sufficient battery charge was leftover to use throughout the remaining days of competition. This used our vehicle's telemetry system to read state of charge, speed, and power depletion, which we used to scope out the maximum number of laps we could theoretically make before the race ended.
