After one of the Product Owners left the company, I have taken over his role as PO of the ticket sales software product of Telexis. As such, I managed to bring the different implementations and customizations back to one single product. This makes the maintenance and administration of the thousands of installations in public transport vehicles easier and reduced the total cost of ownership considerably. While doing so, we also implemented CI/CD.

Telexis delivers, often as system integrator, solutions for electronic ticketing in public transport (OV-chipkaart). I have several roles within the company. As a team lead, I lead the team of business analysts / Product Owners. As project manager, I have led several projects in which both hardware and software had to be developed, tested, and delivered to both existing and new customers. As service manager, I am responsible for a number of service level agreements with existing customers. As Product Owner, I am responsible for the development of our ticket sales software and hence, I lead the development team, which is partly based in Serbia. Apart from that, I am often involved in business development.

For the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai, Telexis has added NFC functionality to the existing Public Transport app of RTA. With this functionality, it became possible for travellers to read and top-up their nol card (the OV-chipkaart of Dubai) always and everywhere. The software development for this project has been outsourced, so a challenging project emerged with a customer in Dubai and a supplier in Spain. As project manager, I was responsible for directing the supplier and the delivery of the end solution to the customer. Apart from that, I have also written the functional design of the system and parts of the test design. I also provided technical support to third parties who wanted to integrate our NFC Plugin into their systems. At the customer, I often took the lead in arranging things like server capacity, network access, software installation, etc. to get things done. I enjoy working with people from different cultures.

ID-ware delivers solutions for card management to organizations that use access cards and advises the Dutch government on the application and administration of the Rijkspas (the common access card of all public servants). As project manager and implementation specialist, I have led and executed a number of implementations of the Online Card Management System of ID-ware. As technical consultant, I have supported the Rijkspas organization (part the Dutch Ministry of the Interior) in a few projects. I have written the so-called Normenkader Plateau 3 (a set of documents specifying the usage of the Rijkspas for logical access) and performed a market research for the choice of new chips in the (hybrid) Rijkspas.

Collis delivers test and consultancy services regarding all kinds of applications of smart card technology. In the e-Ticketing business unit, I have, often seconded to customer premises, worked on several projects as information analyst, test analyst, and test architect at, among others, public transport companies (OV-chipkaart) and government departments (project Anders Betalen voor Mobiliteit).

For RET, I have tested the new management information system for analysis of e-Ticketing (OV-chipkaart) transactions. The supplier has implemented many of the reports that I developed in an earlier job in close collaboration with key users and in this project, we have tested whether he had done so according to specifications and user requirements. Testing involved both preparation and execution, but most of the time I have been busy investigating differences between our own reports and those coming from the new MIS.

In the project Anders Betalen voor Mobiliteit, the Ministry of Transport, Public Works, and Water Management issued a European tender for a new road pricing system in the Netherlands. I contributed by co-authoring the test strategy for the project, which needed to be aligned to the strategies of other sub-projects. Apart from that, I wrote the contractual requirements both for the system suppliers and for the test house that was going to perform the integration tests and a large-scale field test.

As a technial consultant, I have supported RET in the maintenance of the operating data of the Dutch e-Ticketing system (OV-chipkaart) at RET. I gained a lot of knowledge of the so-called EOD and was involved in the functional design of a tool which aims to make EOD management more user-friendly and reliable. I have also developed a large number of reports based on the transaction data from the OV-chip system (data mining).

Foundations of Physics is a scientific journal with special focus on the foundations of physics. I was responsible for the initial evaluation of submitted articles, approaching referees, correspondence with authors, publisher, and the Editor-in-Chief.

My research focused on the the foundations of the theory of General Relativity and the philophy of space and time. Apart from that, I have always kept a special interest in philosophical questions regarding the applicability of mathematics in the natural sciences.
