About Remo Scherrer
In Zürich geboren (1986), aufegwachsen in Oberwil AG, absolvierte Remo seine Ausbildung zum Regisseur und Animator in Luzern. Remo lebt und arbeitet zur Zeit in Mexiko. Sein Master Diplomfilm „Bei Wind und Wetter“ (2016) feierte im Rahmen der Cinéfondacion der Filmfestspiele in Cannes Weltpremiere, wurde an diversen großen Festivals ausgezeichnet und schaffte es unter anderem auf die long list der academy awards (AMPAS), wodurch sein Abschlussprojekt beachtliche Aufmerksamkeit in den Medien erhielt. Als selbständiger Filmemacher realisiert er eigene Projekte sowie Aufträge als Animator und background artist unter anderem für das YK-Animation Studio in Bern und dessen Erfolgsfilme „Coyote“, „Hypertrain“ und „Little Miss Fate“, oder arbeitete an der Entwicklung der Grossproduktion „the end of forever“ der Produktionsfirma Schattenkabinett GmbH mit.Als mehrfach Preisträger des Upcoming Film Makers Festivals (2016) Luzern war er als Mitglied der Jury im Folgejahr vertreten. Seine Arbeit wurde 2013 von der Hirschmann Stiftung mit einem Stipendium ausgezeichnet. 2018 sprach ihm das Aargauer Kuratorium ein einjähriges Reisestipendium in Mexiko zu, wo er zur Zeit Projektentwicklungen betreibt.Remo ist Mitglied der Schweizer Trickfilmgruppe GSFA und der Schweizer Filmakademie.
