I recently joined the Interwest Energy Alliance via RMI’s inaugural Transmission Advocacy Fellowship, a new initiative to advance transmission buildout at the pace and scale necessary to decarbonize the US grid. Working with Interwest's stellar staff team and members, I research and advocate for Western-state policy, regulatory, and planning solutions that support the proactive transmission buildout needed for a rapid transition to renewable energy generation. I'm passionate about implementing the governance solutions we need to build a modern, zero-carbon electric grid that supports a thriving planet while equitably spreading benefits and costs. My expertise and interests lie at the intersection of energy justice, education, and facilitation. Before joining Interwest and RMI, I was the Program Manager at the University of California Center for Climate Justice, where I worked with a cross-UC to develop and disseminate a fantastic climate justice curriculum. I am a social scientist trained in political ecology and human geography, and this lens informs my energy policy and advocacy work. I am also a certified professional coach (PCC), a faculty member at the Academy for Coaching Excellence, and a former lecturer at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where I taught life and career design courses. I created The Career Design Lab, a Massive Open Online Course to help people transition their careers toward work aligned with the positive change they want to make. I have delivered 1,000+ hours of life, career, leadership, executive, and mentor coaching to clients from diverse backgrounds and fields. While I'm not currently teaching or accepting coaching clients, feel free to reach out, and I'm happy to provide referrals or share advice.
