Taught general, business, and IELTS-prep English to adults, leveled pre-intermediate to advanced, and general English for children ages 3-10, leveled beginning to advanced for 30-35 academic hours a week. Led and lesson planned for up to 5 courses plus varying numbers of individual students a week using the ‘Outcomes’ series as a general curricular framework, and with a focus on the lexical approach. Facilitated student improvement by providing personalized feedback, served as a language resource within class, and gave students the linguistic tools (grammar, collocations, etc.) to enable and empower them to use English effectively in diverse real world settings. Other duties included proofreading and presenting materials for marketing, giving placement tests, and leading welcome nights for new students.

Worked within a team of 9 teachers for 30-34 academic hours a week to design and implement lesson plans for 18 classes of between 8 and 13 students (ages 10-18) leveled beginning to upper-intermediate using the Cambridge ‘More!’ and ‘English in Mind’ series as the curricular basis. Worked off-site with intermediate level business students one-on-one to provide opportunities for them to develop higher level speaking fluency by speaking on various relevant topics while strengthening and expanding their English lexicon and grammar.

Worked alongside instructor Jill Darling during a summer course to expand upon and improve the writing (grammar, organization, vocabulary, structure, etc.), argumentation, critical thinking, and time management skills of a class of 14 pre-freshmen studentsLed and designed four 1.5 hour-long workshops per week and met with students outside of class in order to reinforce skills developed in the classroom Acted as a peer mentor and provided insight into academic and social life on campus, study abroad, internships, job opportunities, etc.
