I oversee internal and external communication, public relations, media relations, and social media for Alabama's largest school system. My department also includes mcpssTV, for which I host the show Homeroom. We received the Golden Achievement Award from the National School Public Relations Association in 2021 for the mcpssTV LIVE Lessons we produced during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as in 2018 (Shepherd's Pie), 2017 (#ItStartsToday), 2016 (Telling the Story of Mobile County Public Schools), 2015 (Get on the Bus), and 2014 (It Starts With Us).

National-award winning reporter covering Alabama's largest school system (Mobile County Public Schools), the Alabama Department of Education, and education issues. Received first-prize from Education Writers Association in 2010 for the series, "Alabama's Race to the Bottom," as well as numerous awards from the Alabama Associated Press and the Alabama Press Association, including "Best Local Education Coverage."

Covered city government, crime, education, and feature stories, and more on the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay (Daphne, Spanish Fort and Fairhope). Won the News Sweepstakes Award from the Alabama Associated Press for a series of stories on sewage spills that were impacting local waterways but not being reported to the public.
