About Rena Elyyan, Lswaic (Wa), Lcsw (Ca, Il, Mt, Ok, Va)

As a social worker, I believe it is my duty to serve as an advocate for my clients. In my role as an advocate, I work to address issues causing distress to my clients, including discrimination and lack of adequate resources. I adopt a systems approach to my work, understanding the larger context of systemic inequities and injustices which further oppress and marginalize people. I believe it is essential to address the root causes of systemic injustices, rather than blaming those who are disadvantaged by them. I utilize a strengths-based perspective and person-in-environment framework in my practice. Having experience working with both adolescents and adults, I've had the opportunity to support individuals from many different walks of life and of diverse backgrounds. Throughout my varying roles, I've developed extensive experience supporting individuals who are struggling with anxiety, OCD, depression, eating disorders, and trauma. My primary focus is to support my client’s well-being by connecting them to necessary mental health resources and increasing access to treatment.

Listed skills include Research, Spss, Time Management, Project Management, and 3 others.
