I'm passionate about Lean, Continuous Improvement and developing people. I led my first Lean improvement project in 1990 to improve the production of log homes. I am a highly creative and engaged process specialist, engineer and team leader with a broad knowledge base - an entire career that began on the shop floor has been spent learning new things, broadening my comfort zone.I have knowledge and experience from working as either employee or consultant through a wide variety of industries and assignments with companies such as Northern Telecom, PPG glass, Allied-Signal, Perkin Elmer, Alcan, Pratt & Whitney, Zimmer-Biomet, Kruger Forest Products, Angus-Palm, and others. I have personally done or guided the work to: Reduce defects in auto glass manufacturing by 10 fold; improve production of log homes by 20%; solve vibration issues in gas turbines; reduce quoting process time from 5 days to avg. 28 minutes; optimise laser-fused 3D printing to create 100% defect-free medical devices; develop semiconductor fabrication processes - cleave and coat edge-emitting laser bars, singulate laser bars, plasma dry etch III-V material trenches; calibrate laser power measurement; design and commission high-volume automotive oil filter production lines; qualify product and assembly systems with PPAP to AEC-Q101.I have also trained Lean Six-Sigma Black Belt candidates, designed and conducted dozens of successful statistically designed experiments over > 30 years.
