In my role as a Sustainability Specialist at Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional, I am responsible for overseeing various sustainability frameworks and reporting standards, including GRI, IR, TNFD, TCFD, and SASB. My work involves:- Managing ESG Reporting: I lead the preparation of quarterly ESG releases, ensuring that our sustainability performance and impact are accurately communicated to stakeholders. - ESG Committee Integration: I am a member of the Managing Commission for our ESG Committee, contributing to the strategic oversight and development of our sustainability initiatives.- Project Management: I have successfully managed and implemented more than 10 sustainability projects, applying project management best practices to drive impactful outcomes.- IFC Implementation Projects: I have led two major projects focusing on IFC implementation, including due diligence and project execution, to align with international sustainability standards.- Investor and Client Presentations: I create and deliver presentations for investors and clients, effectively communicating our sustainability strategies, achievements, and future goals.- International Experience: I was selected to participate in a work experience in New York on behalf of the company, where I worked on business development projects in the US, enhancing our global outreach and collaboration.This role allows me to integrate various aspects of sustainability, from compliance and reporting to strategic project management, while contributing to the company's leadership in sustainable practices.

Selected from a pool of over 20,000 candidates, I participated in the CSN Leadership Trainee Program. Over the course of 8 months, I engaged with key leaders at CSN, participating in activities, training sessions, and projects aimed at developing business and strategy skills.During this time, I gained valuable experience across multiple sectors including Mining, Steelmaking, Cement, Energy, and Logistics. This involved understanding the unique challenges faced by each sector within the company and devising tailored solutions.As part of the Leadership Trainee Program, I led a team of five individuals in a final project presented to the company's C-level executives. This project focused on identifying and capitalizing on an opportunity I had identified during the program - specifically, reducing fuel consumption at one of CSN's furnaces while simultaneously lowering carbon emissions and associated costs. The solution we presented offered a payback period of less than 1 year and resulted in a $3 million increase in cash flow.Following the completion of the program, I transitioned to a role within the Corporate Sustainability team and was subsequently promoted to the Specialist position, the highest level attainable post-CSN's Trainee Program.

I worked at a Swiss environmental consulting firm in Brazil, where my responsibilities were divided between engineering-based remediation projects and sustainability-focused initiatives. In my engineering role, I managed projects such as thermal remediation and Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE), applying my technical skills to address contamination issues. Simultaneously, I focused on sustainability, working on key projects to quantify and reduce environmental impacts. Some of the notable projects I contributed to include:- Water balance for Bosch, a leading German company- Carbon footprint for Hering, one of Brazil’s most traditional t-shirt manufacturers- Scope 3 emissions for Natura, a major Brazilian cosmetics company- Carbon footprint and carbon credit strategy for Rhodia, a global chemicals and plastics manufacturerThrough these experiences, I gained valuable insight into both the technical and strategic dimensions of sustainability, while developing governance frameworks and technical solutions that helped clients enhance their sustainability performance. My work has provided me with a solid foundation in both engineering and sustainability, with a strong focus on driving real-world environmental improvements.

I was an intern in the Business Intelligence department at Neosolar, a fast-growing solar energy business, where I played a key role as one of the early members in establishing the BI area. My responsibilities included developing key performance indicators (KPIs) for delivery and warehousing operations, which were vital in optimizing the company’s logistics and supply chain processes.Beyond KPI development, I led and organized insight meetings to present and interpret the analyzed results for various departments, driving data-driven decision-making across the organization. These sessions helped align teams on actionable strategies, contributing to Neosolar’s growth in the renewable energy sector. My work not only supported the company’s operations but also laid the groundwork for continuous improvement and data-led performance tracking.Before leaving the position, I created detailed instructional videos explaining the tools I had developed. This was essential for ensuring a smooth transition for the people who would take over my role, given how new the department was. This effort helped maintain continuity and supported the department's ongoing development even after my departure.

I served as the Communications Director for the Chemical Engineering Student Union at Escola Politécnica, the leading engineering school in Latin America. In this role, I managed the communication strategy and social media presence, overseeing the creation and distribution of the course’s newsletter. I also developed written and visual content for high-impact academic events, workshops, and short courses. This multifaceted experience required an in-depth understanding the organization`s activities, strengthening my ability to lead teams, plan communication campaigns, and deliver results that contributed to both the student community and the professional development of its members.

At 16, I was awarded the opportunity to join the Junior Scientific Initiation Program in Mathematics at the University of Sao Paulo as recognition for my prior involvement in scientific research during high school. Throughout this immersive experience, I delved into the realms of logical thinking and advanced mathematical concepts, alongside fellow master's students from IME-USP, expanding my knowledge base and honing my skills in logical reasoning and complex mathematical theories.Juggling the demands of this program alongside my high school curriculum presented its challenges, yet through effective time management and dedication, I successfully navigated both spheres of academia.
