A doctorate in health science and clinical trial professional with over 20 years’ experience in clinical research, focused on clinical trial diversity, education, and inclusion. I have worked in Cancer and Alzheimer’s disease research, starting out as a research assistant, and working my way up to study coordinator and several years’ experience as a Clinical Research Associate. Within these roles I had the opportunity to work with underserved communities. I understand the important need for successful clinical trial programs that include all people but especially people of color. I have a strong understanding of the clinical trial process and have had the opportunity to share with sites and leadership at my current organization about recruitment ideas that could be beneficial to increasing the number of people involved in clinical trials from underserved and underrepresented populations. In addition, my desire to see diversity, education and inclusion in clinical research drove me to start a nonprofit called “Diverse Research Now” where we share with communities of color about the importance of participating in clinical trials and offer unique programs. We share videos, articles and even connect members with clinical trials that might interest them. I am passionate about health equity in clinical research and look forward to sharing my knowledge about diversity, education, and inclusion in clinical trials with my community.
