About Renata Mahmud (Mbpss)

Having a passion for improving mental health care, I have predominately worked in the mental health sector. Currently working as a Community Support Worker at South East Wandsworth Community Mental Health Team (Springfield Hospital) where I work in a MDT setting, supporting patients in the community who are experiencing difficulty with their mental health. I have worked in inpatient psychiatric acute wards, outpatient clinical departments and mental health charities. I have worked with adults (aged 18 to 65 years) with a range of mental health issues, including schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, bipolar affective disorder, EUPD and personality disorder and older adults (aged 65 years and over) experiencing the onset of dementia and other cognitive impairment including problems with memory.Previous voluntary experience in the mental health sector include: (1) Mental Health Advocacy at Rethink Mental Illness, (2) befriending through Crossroads and (3) befriending through Battersea Befriending Network. I have a strong understanding of the different recovery approaches for patient seeking mental health treatment and intervention.
