I supported the Interim Executive Recruitment Team based in Melbourne on a part-time basis, helping them develop new engagement strategies and strategic planning to cope with the growing demand for interim executive appointments.

Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Enterprise), my role was to support the the strategic development, implementation and operations of the newly formed Enterprise Portfolio. • Extensive work in establishing the operating framework for the new portfolio, including: the hiring and management of new and existing staff; extensive stakeholder consultation for the development of the new Enterprise Strategy; and coordination of the amalgamation of new and existing teams into the new portfolio • Co-founder and enterprise portfolio lead of Project Engage, an initiative which aimed to create platforms for cross-faculty collaboration, account management solutions and stewardships plans to enhance Monash’s engagement with industry. This included a Salesforce CRM technology solution, as well as customer experience, people and culture and operating model and processes re-design and implementation.• Development of an integrated, ‘one-Monash’ approach for the engagement with industry sectors, specifically ‘mining and resources”, “transport” and “defence”. This included the development of sector-based internal forums and action groups, marketing collateral and a multi-disciplinary approach to Monash’s engagement with sectors for industry partnership opportunities. • Facilitated university engagement with large corporations including NAB, BAE Systems, Rio Tinto and CSIRO and industry associations including CEDA, AusIMM, VECCI, and Australian British Chamber

The Foundation, initiated by the Australian Government in 2001, and supported by major Australian corporations and philanthropists, was designed to be equivalent to the Rhodes and Fulbright scholarship programs. As the CEO, I was responsible to the Board for raising the Foundation’s profile, building long-lasting partnerships with supporters, engaging with and nurturing past and present Scholars and ensuring that the scholarship selection processes is suited to identify those who will become future Australian leaders.• Overhauled the Foundation’s office and marketing, which took the Foundation from start-up mode to full maturity: established a professional operations platform including establishing a high-performing team, effective governance and organisational structure, for-purpose business model, and adopting technology platforms to support the operations, and digital marketing strategies. • Adjusted the operations of the Foundation through a significant growth phase to match the endowment growth (total assets grew from $18m to $31m) while developing and nurturing new relationships resulting from annual new sponsorship agreements, which jumped from $3m in 2014 to $9m in 2016, tripling the number of engaged stakeholders.• Provided stewardship in the design and negotiation of large government funding agreements ($2m-$4m each from NSW and Victoria State Governments and the Department of Veteran’s Affairs) and renewal of multi-year corporate sponsorships (800K+ each), including Woodside and CBA.• Personally raised funds, including a bequest ($3m), grants (800k+) and multi-year donations ($500k+).• Managed and designed high profile events and conferences in Australia (major capital cities) and overseas (Oxford, New York, San Francisco, supported by DFAT), attended by Federal and State politicians, philanthropists, diplomats, captains of industry and senior leaders.

CEDA is a national, independent, member-based organisation providing thought leadership and policy perspectives on the economic and social issues affecting Australia. Reporting to the CEO, responsibilities included leading the overall membership strategy at state and national levels, enhancing engagement across all categories to achieve CEDA’s funding and advocacy targets, and providing recommendations to the board in relation to membership growth. • Implemented a national membership strategy and engagement model which was endorsed by the board and adopted by CEDA’s state offices. The new holistic model focused on developing a service culture, member-centric approach, strategic cross-selling opportunities and targeted prospecting. CEDA’s income grew 19% since implementation.• Increased national membership by 53% in two years. New national members included organisations such as John Holland, Bankwest, Minerals Council, Navitas, Macquarie Group, Philips, G4S, Mitsubishi, Aon Risk, BHP, URS and Siemens.

CANNZ is the professional association, training provider and representative body for Chartered Accountants (CAs) with over 70,000 members, annual revenue of >$86 million and membership growth of 5% per annum. Reporting to the General Manager for Victoria and Tasmania, the role included managing a team, developing strategies to boost membership growth and building academic and business partnerships.• Developed key new business opportunities, including partnerships with large professional services firms, banks and universities for the development of joint events, co-branded services and cross-marketing cooperation.• Expanded the use of social media and face to face stakeholder engagement, increasing the key contacts database by 200%, reducing costs in advertising by 15% and increasing stakeholder engagement by 20% (2010) and 35% (2011).• Introduced scholarships and international travel bursaries for disadvantaged students as well as merit-based awards for accounting students studying in Victoria and Tasmania.

One of the largest business faculties in Australia with over 16,000 students spread across local and international campuses. The Faculty of Business and Economics is the key strategic driver of the university’s $1.5b revenue. I was accountable for the creation of a new value proposition to improve student retention and satisfaction postgraduate business students, including the redesign of the student experience and introduction of career enhancement programs, business mentoring, corporate engagement and networking events.

Key responsibilities included leading a team of executives, managing faculty-wide reviews, drafting and monitoring yearly operational plans, managing re-structures and the providing advice to senior management regarding government reporting, quality control, risk management and policy development. The role included supporting managing several Faculty boards and committees, working groups, and coordinating a two-year external (former AUQA, now TEQSA) quality audit.

Key responsibilities included project management, corporate engagement and PhD Program coordination.
