I am an active oceanographer that enjoys going to the sea to retrieve seafloor samples. I participated in multiple oceanographic expeditions in the Southwest Atlantic and joined the International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP) Expedition 349 on the South China Sea. My research has been carried out in Brazil, Portugal, Germany, and the US. Since 2015 I am an Assistant Professor with tenure at the Federal University of Paraná (Brazil), teaching Marine Geoscience for ungraduated and graduate-level students. My main research interest is to reconstruct past oceanic conditions and constrain ocean-climate connections at different timescales. For this, I apply a multiproxy approach based on marine sediments' physical properties, geochemistry, and microfauna (i.e., foraminifera) to marine sedimentary records. My research focus is to learn how the ocean responded to natural oscillations of the climate system for a better view of its response to future climate change.
