I love helping people, I always have, that's why I love working for community-based organizations. I get no greater satisfaction than when I can help someone build a better future for themselves, whether that be through skills building, education, or personal achievement. Helping others is what gets me up in the morning. I am also very fortunate to have had the privilege of bearing witness to the vibrancy, resiliency, and creativity of people who look just like me, and have developed a passion for working within the black community in particular.Currently, I am the Director of the Westhaven-Elmhurst Community Recreation Association, a community organisation in the westernmost region of Notre-Dame-de-Grace that provides services and activities for a primarily low-income, black immigrant population. My professional background includes being a P.R. and Communications specialist, with experience in traditional and social media, event management, and political organising. I have planned and worked on integrated campaigns for organisations in various fields such as education, sports, religion, and politics.
