My professional career has been devoted to the energy sector for over 20 years. I did two postgraduate courses and several refresher and academic extension courses in Brazil and the United Kingdom with a focus on this sector. Since 2007 I work for the British Consulate in Rio de Janeiro connecting Brazilian and British companies. I am the head of Energy, Maritime Industries and Mining at the Department for Business and Trade of the UK Government in Brazil. My initial career was Journalism, having worked in large Brazilian media groups, such as the newspapers O Globo and Jornal do Brasil, and the specialised outlet Editora Brasil Energia, one of the main providers of professional energy content in Brazil. I am also a member of the board of the British Chamber of Commerce in Brazil (Britcham).
