Ren's diverse litigation practice includes commercial disputes of any size, complexity, and area of business. His clients range from public and private companies to individuals and other lawyers.With an extensive background in digital communication policy, Ren also has a special interest in disputes involving new technology, intellectual property, and defamation. Ren's clients in these areas include established international technology companies, new businesses, non-governmental organizations, and individuals.Ren clerked for the judges of the Ontario Court of Appeal. He has published academic and popular articles on intellectual property, file sharing and electronic voting. He spent several years representing a non-governmental organization at the World Intellectual Property Organization – a specialized agency of the United Nations based in Geneva – and at various technology standards organizations around the globe. Ren served as a Google Policy Fellow while completing graduate work on competition law, technology standards and intellectual property.Ren has also managed a non-commercial radio station, and his graphic design work has appeared in publications such as Rolling Stone and Spin.
