Profile bio

About Ren Capucao

My research explores the history of Filipino nurses through the critical lens of race and disability. I examine the lived experiences of Filipino nurses since the nascence of the twentieth century. By exploring the past, I plan to politically intervene in the present and future by raising awareness of health disparities and racial inequity from the bedside to the global arena. These issues include the nursing shortage, unidirectional migration patterns of internationally educated nurses, and poor healthcare access in the Global South. How can we deploy care worldwide while rightfully allowing nurses from the Philippines and the Global South the right to flourish and access to the good life?

Listed skills include Microsoft Office, Teamwork, Microsoft Word, Customer Service, and 20 others.
