I am currently the Senior Account Executive for IT training delivery partners in the Sub Sahara Africa region, tasked with driving revenue and expanding CompTIA’s client base, both new and existing, within South Africa, Botswana, Mauritius, Ethiopia and Cameroon. My role involves identifying and cultivating relationships with potential clients, maintaining and growing existing accounts, understanding client needs, building product and service solutions, and discovering new business and market opportunities.

I was the Senior Manager for Business Development in the corporate space for the South African region at CompTIA, responsible for IT certification sales and membership. A strong believer in the power of skills development in the workplace, I am tasked with finding strategic partners and educating IT channel businesses by implementing a customer-centric approach that assists organisations to evaluate their employees’ IT skill levels and formulate a strategy to address these skill gaps through training and certification. As a non-profit trade association advancing the global interests of IT professionals and companies, we focus our programmes on four main areas: education, certification, advocacy and philanthropy. Pretoria Area, South Africa

I was an Account Executive at BCX, the leading ICT and telecommunications infrastructure provider on the African continent. I was responsible for the management of the full sales cycle of a dedicated account set of medium-to-large, diversified commercial companies, mostly within the Gauteng, North-West, Limpopo and Mpumalanga regions. Additionally, I was responsible for holding and growing existing customer revenue within BCX by professionally managing customer accounts. My duties involved strategy management by formally reviewing and communicating the client strategy to the relevant parties in alignment with BCX’s standards, and monitoring progress against the client strategy on an on-going basis. I also managed the sales CRM system for financial/pipeline/forecast and customer information, build and maintain key supplier/vendor relationships and remain customer focused to ensure that BCX is viewed as a strategic business partner.

I was a Lead Enablement Manager as part of the Power of X team at BCX. BCX was born out of a merger between Business Connexion and Telkom Business. Apart from focusing on social selling and lead enablement, my duties also involved lead generation and management, personal engagement with potential clients, as well as CRM analysis and reporting. I was responsible for handling all SME-defined new business leads, crafting essential client relationships and delivering premium ICT services from start to finish.

I was a Junior Business Development Manager, providing internal sales support to the DCO division of Telkom. The segments I was responsible for included the Retail, Industrial and Health (RIH), as well as the Banking and Financial Services (BFS) segments. My duties involved pipeline management and analysis, territory review management, proposal/contract chasing, WNB monitoring and execution, and assistance with RFxx’s.

I was responsible for managing and marketing the public cloud division within the IT and Cloud sector of Telkom, which included Virtual Private Servers, Office 365 programs and Customer Relationship Management tools. I was also involved with assisting various other products - from hosting services to storage and backup. My duties involved reviewing product plans, writing market service descriptions, monthly revenue updates, sales collateral and following up on industry trends and opportunities.

At university I was the student assistant for various senior lecturers in the Marketing Management department at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University. My position entailed invigilation of tests, presenting tutorial classes to 1st, 2nd and 3rd year marketing students, marking and filing, and conducting research. I was also involved in the technicalities and referencing process of numerous Masters dissertations and Doctorate theses.
