Hey there! My name is Rene. In 2021, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas Women's University with a B.S. in Psychology, along with a minor in Biology. During those years of undergrad, I had strong ambitions to pursue a research career in public health. I worked as a research assistant for a non-profit organization, Adolescent Sports Metrics, for over 2 years. I worked with patients from low-income and marginalized communities in the Dallas area. It was during this time that I came to see very personally how a communities environment, their water, air, and their infrastructure, impacts both acute and chronic health outcomes. It was during this time that I made a huge change in my goals, and decided to pursue a career in Water Resources/Environmental Engineering. Currently, I am a junior at the University of Texas at Arlington pursuing a B.S. in Civil Engineering planning to graduate Spring 2026.
