As a PhD candidate, I have completed two years of coursework at the Master's level, passed comprehensive exams (with distinction) in six topics covering about 20-30 scholarly and literary books per topic, and written a 25-page plan for my dissertation. Over the years, I have presented the results of my research at several professional conferences. I have assisted professors with their teaching of four courses, led numerous discussions, and graded hundreds of papers. For two years, I convened a study group around my topic of expertise, organized several distinguished speakers to give talks, and interviewed them about their work in front of our audiences.

Helping students of Dutch in the Five College Center’s self-study program succeed: clarifying questions of grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation through real conversations about Dutch culture with a native speaker.

Enabling visitors to get the most out of their museum experience: answering any of their questions, giving personal, educational tours of the collection, and assisting school and college groups with their fieldwork.

Translated "Les Tombeaux de Guy Debord" by J.M. Apostolidès from the French with professor Laure Katsaros. Our work is published as a book in the "Working Titles" series of the Massachusetts Review.

Digitized plays in the Sam French Collection at Amherst. Collaborated with fellow students to develop a data model opening the collection up to other researchers. Secured summer funding to review relevant theory in the digital humanities. Presented the project with professor Chris Grobe at a panel for Amherst alumni and donors.

Using R, analyzed and cleaned up datasets of simulation output from DYNAMO-HIA software, a modeling tool for health impact assessment, in order to test its underlying assumptions. Co-authored a paper on my findings with professor Hendriek Boshuizen published with the journal PLOS ONE ( https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pone.0205225).
