“In real life, strategy is actually very straightforward. You pick a general direction, and you implement like hell” (Jack Welch). I believe the same applies to one’s career. Today, I implement that direction “like hell” through three main actions. First, I spring onto hairy challenges while surrounding myself with trusted advisors and rock-solid teams. Companies need to stretch goals to advance, and a goal-getter and committed leader is necessary to accomplish those goals. I have pursued stretched goals and overcome challenges, including during a $1.2B energy module construction and transportation project.Second, I embark on journeys of continuous learning, leveraging my adaptability. Business advancement, as well as personal advancement, is about lessons learned and benchmarking. I benchmark my leadership challenges and personal goals against high-performing companies and peers. In line with this, I combine business acumen with engineering-centered problem-solving to move the needle. And third, I inject relentless determination into everything I do. I’m wired to think differently, collaborate in teams, and work effectively towards a common goal. Today’s world is flat; strategy and program development are global. True business success comes when you can think differently, ideate efficiently, manage change, and concentrate on the right results.▼ Key Skills ▼✔ Business development✔ Strategy crafting and implementation✔ Cross-functional team & stakeholder management✔ Marine and offshore capital projects✔ Technical and commercial advisoryFor professional networking or discussing new opportunities, I can be reached at powellre@gmail.com.
