Research And Development Intern
CurrentHollister is a global medical device company focused on developing and manufacturing products in the ostomy, intermittent catheter, and critical care markets. As an intern, I conduct technical research and perform various experiments in a BSL-2 laboratory for a specialized urinary care team.I perform quantitative assays using spectrophotometry (i.e., ELISA), independently perform microbiological test methods (i.e., zone of inhibition, bioburden recovery), have developed, refined, and tested in vitro models of the lower urinary tract following literature review, and have conducted an extensive literature review to identify gaps in intermittent catheter use (i.e., unmet user needs) to support the knowledge base of our international continence care team and inform future product development.
