About Renee De Bock

Educated, enthusiastic, energetic educator who is excited to begin working in a progressive, convivial environment where I can share my experience and wisdom, continue to learn from others and be part of a team that believes in the power of education to transform lives. My background is classroom teaching in an urban setting with at-risk youth and I have experienced both the challenges and the successes that come with the work. My credentials include: teaching licenses in Illinois and Washington, MA/Principal Preparation, PERA certified Mods 1-5, BA/2nd Ed & History, ESL Endorsement, AVID Strands Elective, Social Studies, Tutorology, Schoolwide Implementation, AP US History Certified and AP World Certified. I have taught grades 9-12 in schools on Chicago's South & Southwest sides, serving majority African-American and Latino populations. I know that the struggle is real, but success is achievable. I have been a department lead, AVID Site Coordinator, worked on PLC's, school improvement teams, served as AP testing coordinator, mentored 15+ teachers and most importantly--I have taught students who have gone on to beat the odds and graduate from college!
