I graduated from Lamar University with my bachelor’s degree in English and teaching and then from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse with my master’s degree in Education. I’ve taught for ten years in both Texas and Wisconsin. I have helped create a writing program in one of my past school districts, conducted research on a flipped lesson structure for small groups, and worked one on one with students to help improve their reading and writing skills. I have a background in most subjects, but reading and writing are my true passion to teach. I have a lot of experience in helping students develop creative writing techniques and improving their essay writing. Growing up in a paycheck-to-paycheck household, taught me that education is the doorway to a higher quality of life and I want to help my students unlock that door for themselves. In my spare time, I enjoy being outdoors with my dogs, playing games (both video and table top), and writing.
