MOSES is a non profit organization that seeks to address problems within our justice system through community education, legislative action and policy means. My role developed over the years but generally, I helped developed new governance structures, drafted organizational policies, reworked and designed the website, developed edited and produced the annual report and monthly newsletter, organized and presided over committee meetings and drafted and distributed committee minutes. I was also the editor of MOSES's annual reports and a member on MOSES's racial sensitivity board. In addition, I organized public education events, on various topics, for example, the preschool to prison pipeline discussion, which occurred at the central library and another panel on restorative justice, which featured District Attorney Ismael Ozanne, as a panelist at the Urban League. In addition to these sorts of projects, I responded to media, performed website maintenance, posted all content on the MOSES blog, organized fundraising events, and meeting with interested parties and represented MOSES at various councils and boards. I constantly kept an eye out for opportunities for MOSES to acheive their aims and appaised the board on various chances they had to engage with the community.
