Art psychotherapy is especially helpful with children and youth, people with varied communication abilities, and people who appreciate art in any form. We apply inclusive, trauma-informed, and eclectic counselling approaches to meet the unique needs and strengths of each individual. We believe in the power of working together as a system of service providers to improve health outcomes by connecting clients with additional community resources they can access. Discover Year (discoveryear.ca) is a structured one-year career and leadership development program that helps young adults build essential skills (communication, self-awareness, resilience, confidence & more) through experiential learning, mentorship, coaching, travel, volunteering, and interactive education. I manage the Life-Path Coaching program, design and deliver workshops on self-mastery, leadership, and communication, and coach individuals and groups.

Art therapy uses the expressive and self-reflective aspects of the creative process to support well-being and address issues across the whole spectrum of human experience. The focus is on the life-enhancing process of art-making rather than on the artistic merit of the product created. Art-making is a powerful tool for tending to holistic health (mind, body and spirit) and facilitating human and community development.

On Sundays and Mondays in Ottawa, this not-for-profit organization (rollingbarber.ca) gives people living in poverty or on a low-income access to free hair washing, cutting and styling in the comfort of a school bus turned mobile barber shop. As a BOD member, I support the organization with communications, event management and fundraising.

Linking Leaders (linkingleaders.ca) is a new kind of grass roots leadership engagement program that offers a deep dive into the housing and homelessness 'system' – the complexities of funding models, policy landscapes, and best practices from other jurisdictions. The 4-month program includes an experiential component to better understand first-hand the realities on the ground, learning from front-line staff and people who interact with the system and its users on a daily basis. The goal of the program: to significantly reduce homelessness rates in Ottawa through strategic planning with focus on prevention and re-housing rather than continual short-term crisis response. I was involved since the program's inception stages through to its completion. My responsibilities included facilitating monthly meetings, brainstorming, taking minutes, assigning tasks, drafting communications such as emails and web content, reaching out to partners and funders, public speaking and event planning.

Coordinating the World Mental Health Day Challenge (October 10, 2019) for the Faculty of Social Sciences: a unique experiential community event dedicated to bringing awareness to the mental health needs of graduate students and discussing an action plan for wellness.

Met with future uOttawa students, their parents, teachers and guidance counsellors to provide information about the University of Ottawa's undergraduate programs, emphasizing the benefits of a French immersion education. Expertise developed in public speaking, meeting facilitation, event and project management, interpersonal and strategic communication and research.

As part of the uOttawa master's course Communication Management, my working group developed a strategic communications plan for the Alliance. The purpose of this consultation is to design a plan for mobilizing community members to "take the pledge" as "homefulness champions".

I coordinated six annual French for the Future Forums; day-long conferences bringing together 300 grade 11 French immersion students from Ottawa area high schools. In this role, I chaired the organizing committee, communicated with school board personnel, high school teachers, artistic performers and volunteers, managed sponsorship and budgeting as well as prepared evaluation surveys and post-mortem reports. I also produced a video, a flash dance and live game shows including "La guerre des clans" and The Price is Right.

For five years, I've had the pleasure of sharing my love for the city of Ottawa and all its offerings to readers, unsure of "what they want to do tonight". Upon returning to school, I decided to focus my writing efforts there and wrapped up the blog business.

I assisted in the behind the scenes operations of two community theatre productions. One as Assistant Director and the other as Hospitality Co-Coordinator. Responsibilities included writing down Director's notes relating to blocking, acting, logistics and communications, ensuring the well-being of the cast and crew and catering during the 3-week run of the play.
