Teaching Adult Second Language learners who seek to improve their English language skills to meet educational, employment and community goals.

I have spent my life in music and language learning. I blend these two areas of expertise with a Master's degree in TESOL to help musicians who wish to increase their English language skills to communicate in a way that pairs with the depth and excellence of their musical skills. I am especially excited to work in the areas of pronunciation and story-telling.

I provide individualized instruction based on my students' needs and goals.

Summer English Session (taught online in 2020)

I've worked in-person and online with level 1 English learners in the Fordham Community ESL program, using a workforce related curriculum. I incorporate music and pronunciation work into all 4 skills in an active and engaging classroom environment. When the coronavirus pandemic ended in-person classes, I worked on a curriculum development team to design supplemental materials for level 1 students. I am also certified in Best-Plus 2.0 Assessment.

I provided English language tutorials in academic reading and writing to students in the CUNY Language Immersion Program (CLIP) program. I also designed and provided online pronunciation workshops to Level 3 intermediate students prior to their graduating from the CLIP program and entering the College. Tutor positions ceased in the CLIP program during to the Coronavirus pandemic.

I taught intermediate level students in this program designed for immigrant learners. I designed supplemental pronunciation, listening and speaking materials.

I provided instruction in academic reading, writing, listening and speaking both to students in Kings' College Prep Programs (UPP/EAS) and to ESL students taking classes for pleasure. I designed and taught a 12 week pronunciation course and used student-led podcasts to teach speaking and pronunciation skills.

In my role as consultant, I assisted music teachers with tailoring lesson plans for their students with learning challenges.

I taught level 1 learners in the Center's Adult Education & Workforce Development, helping them develop English language skills for living and working in the community.

In my role as music director, I contracted musicians for all weekly and special services, led an annual outreach concert and conducted a seasonal choir of mixed voices.
