About Renee Ridgway
Currently, I am working as a Program Administrator for the Gilroy non-profit, Carry the Vision. Some of the programs I provide administrative support for are a local Youth Diversion Program, fiscal partnership with San Ysidro Nueva Vida's Promotore group, Covid recovery and resiliency, and organizational capacity building. From 2020-2021, I oversaw a COVID-19 emergency rent relief program as a grassroots partner with Destination: Home to prevent our most vulnerable community members from becoming unhoused. Carry the Vision (CTV) restores lives and communities through nonviolence, creating a peaceful and compassionate world. https://www.carrythevision.org/who-we-arePreviously, I spent 11 years in the small business world working pretty much every position in a small business retail store possible - executive assistant, purchasing, management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, customer service (in-person, phone, and online), warehouse management, marketing, business planning, database operation, inventory control, shipping, and receiving.When that business was taken by the recession, I followed my heart into a nonprofit career extremely close to me. I began by heavily volunteering with Unravel Pediatric Cancer after Jennifer Lynn Kranz, my daughter's best friend, died of brain cancer at just six years old. After a year of volunteering to help Libby and Tony Kranz, Jennifer's parents, get the nonprofit up and running, I was hired on as Unravel's Executive Director. As one of only 2 paid employees during my 4 years there, I had my hand in a bit of everything and gained a lot of valuable experience and knowledge that I was able to use to help Unravel grow to almost $1million/year in donations!

It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to help lead Unravel as the Executive Director from August of 2014 to September 2017. We have grown from a small and very grass roots new non-profit to nearly $1 million dollars in donations per year!It has been my privilege to watch other families and friends of warrior children use Unravel as an outlet to honor or remember them. Their children have pushed me forward in the hard times and have become another one of my “why”s. Unravel does beautiful things to make a real difference in the science and development of medicine to fight kids cancer. The sheer number of thousands of donors and event attendees have humbled me, and I am truly grateful for the generosity of the donors, communities, and businesses that spend their hard-earned money fighting for these kids.At Unravel, I implemented systems for facilitating the rapid growth of the organization, while still paying special attention to our volunteers that made our day to day operations possible.
