As a graduate student at Florida State University pursuing a Master of Science in Finance, I have cultivated a foundation in financial analysis, investment strategies, and client relationship management. My journey in finance began during my undergraduate studies, where I had the privilege of interning at Morgan Stanley in Boca Raton, FL. This invaluable experience allowed me to gain deep insights and practical knowledge in various aspects of finance and investment analysis. By engaging in substantive meetings and consultations with clients, I developed a keen ability to tailor investment recommendations to align with each individual's unique long-term financial goals and risk tolerance thresholds. This hands-on experience not only enhanced my proficiency in navigating the complexities of the financial markets but also honed my interpersonal skills, enabling me to communicate complex financial concepts with clarity and confidence.In addition to my finance background, I founded and developed Renée Rivas Photo, a photography business that significantly enriched my skill set. Managing this business honed my financial organization, strategic planning, and client relationship management skills. Utilizing CRM software, alongside Excel and other Microsoft Office applications, I efficiently handled bookings, contracts, and expenses. This experience taught me how to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and ensure operational efficiency.Looking ahead, I am excited to start my role as a Portfolio Manager for the Florida State Student Investment Fund and as a Research Assistant at FSU. I am eager to apply my accumulated knowledge and skills to these positions, which directly align with my professional aspirations.
