Web DeveloperSelf-Employed May 2024 - PresentAs a self-employed Web Developer, I develop web applications using Node.js and React to deliver responsive and efficient platforms. I recently developed a comprehensive platform for a Brazilian clinic to manage patient records and online scheduling, enhancing operational workflows and user experience.Additionally, I created custom web applications for healthcare professional networks, enabling secure communication, data sharing, and real-time updates. These projects integrated authentication and authorization mechanisms to ensure secure access and utilized RESTful APIs to streamline data management and system communication. My work included building scalable applications with TypeScript and Nest.js, ensuring maintainable codebases, and using MySQL for database management to guarantee data integrity and performance. I also developed user-friendly interfaces with HTML5 and CSS to enhance usability and accessibility, conducting unit testing with Jest to validate code quality and reliability.

Full-Stack EngineerLabtrans/Ufsc Jun 2021 - May 2024Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, BrazilAnalysis and development of a web system in the ICM (Maintenance Condition Index) project of the Transport and Logistics Laboratory (LabTrans) of the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC).Problem Statement:The ICM project, developed for the Brazilian National Department of Infrastructure and Transport (DNIT), aimed to create a system uses footage of federal highways to manage and maintain the condition of these roads. One of the core challenges during the development of the ICM-Web Application was a significant performance issue. The web application struggled under heavy user load, leading to slow response times, which threatened the overall efficiency and user satisfaction.Solution:The ICM system comprised three main modules: the DNIT-ICM Desktop Application, the ICM-Mobile Application, and the ICM-Web Application, with the latter being the module I directly worked on. Built with a Node.js back-end interacting with a Microsoft SQL Server database, and a React.js front-end, the ICM-Web Application provided highway managers with detailed reports and charts about road conditions. To address the performance issue, I conducted a thorough analysis of the codebase and identified inefficient database queries as the primary bottleneck. I implemented several optimizations, including rewriting and optimizing the database queries, integrating caching mechanisms, and applying asynchronous processing to improve overall application efficiency. Result:The optimizations significantly improved the performance of the ICM-Web Application, resulting in faster response times and a much smoother user experience, even under heavy loads. These enhancements allowed highway managers to access crucial information more quickly and efficiently, ensuring that the system operated reliably during peak usage periods. Additionally, this project deepened my expertise in Node.js and React.js while demonstrating my ability to diagnose and resolve complex performance issues. -
Software EngineerHigh-Performance Geophysics Laboratory (Hpg Lab) Feb 2019 - Jan 2021Campinas E Região, BrasilI was hired by the High-Performance Geophysics Laboratory (HPG Lab) at the Center for Petroleum Studies (CEPETRO) of UNICAMP to develop a crucial project called "AWS Quota Manager".Problem Statement: HPG was facing significant issues with cloud cost control. Researchers were inefficiently using AWS resources, leading to much higher-than-expected costs. Managers had no automated tools to control usage and relied solely on AWS’s built-in reports, which lacked the necessary granularity and real-time insights.Solution: To address this, I developed AWS Quota Manager, a serverless application (Lambda) created from scratch using Python. This tool allowed managers to assign each user a monthly quota in US Dollars. It included alerts to notify users when they were nearing their quota, and if the quota was exceeded, the application automatically shut down all the user’s services and resources, ensuring that costs remained within budget. On the first day of each month, all quotas were reset to their assigned amounts regardless of the previous month’s usage. The application also provided managers with the ability to generate detailed reports and charts on cloud usage and user quotas, offering greater visibility and control over resources.Result:The outcome of the project was a success, as the AWS Quota Manager effectively solved HPG's issue of cloud overspend. By automating quota enforcement and providing real-time alerts, it significantly reduced costs and ensured that researchers could use cloud resources more efficiently. Additionally, managers gained improved control and insights into cloud usage through detailed reports and charts, helping to keep research projects within budget without compromising operational efficiency. -
