My main work after my kids were all in school has been as a Classified Substitute Teaching Assistant for different school districts. I have enjoyed this work immensely, and learned a great deal about varying needs of students in public schools. I have a special place in my heart for students with learning challenges and developmental disabilities. 3 and a half years ago, I began work with Yamhill County as a QMHA in an On-Call HHS position serving in our crisis and respite housing program. I started in March of 2013 serving as a Peer Support Specialist for adult Behavioral Health clients in a regular part time position (now full time) and am enjoying the challenges and rewards of this new chapter in my life, helping, supporting, and learning together with my coworkers and the individuals we serve.
