Rene Ryan is an agency owner and organizational leader with a passion for helping teams build award-winning content marketing programs. She is the co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of BackPocket, an agency focused on helping organizations tell their stories and connect with their audiences.Rene spent the last 20 years at multiple agencies in the content marketing space, supporting immensely talented teams who crafted content strategies and marketing programs for clients in the professional associations, non-profit, and healthcare fields. Her career originally launched as a researcher, journalist, and editor for publications such as The Boston Globe, NY Post, Inc. magazine, Child magazine, Time Out New York, Time Out Chicago, and Budget Travel magazine, amongst others. She also created content for Kaplan, Scholastic, and McGraw-Hill.Rene holds an MA in Journalism from Emerson College in Boston and a BA in Communications from the University of Iowa. She is working towards a certification in Organizational Leadership & Culture from Harvard Business School Online.
