- Managing the 9 headed Marine & Safety Department of Maersk Ship Management.- Document of Compliance Holder of several flag states: the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Gibraltar, Denmark, Brazil, Hong Kong, Liberia, Bahamas’. Responsible for the implementation and follow-up of the International Safety Management code (ISM) on the 14 RoRo & RoPax ships and 44 container ships as managed by Maersk Ship Management (MSM).- Designated Person Ashore (DPA): direct link between the operations departments on board (including crew) and top management of the company in case of disputes raised which cannot be solved on the work floor.- Company Security Officer (CSO): direct contact between the ship and the flag states (authorities) of the ship in case of terrorism or piracy.- End responsible for the follow-up and implementation of the ISM, ISPS, ISO 14001 certification and flag state requirements of the vessels managed.- End responsible for Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) on board vessels in general.- Management member of Maersk Ship Management.- Member of the Sustainability Department of Maersk Line who has the task to formulate and implement new National and International regulations and guidelines for the shipping industry.- Head of the Emergency Management Team of MSM. Organizing emergency drills, together with local authorities, port offices and/or coast guards.

- Coordinate, plan and monitor Internal and External HSE, ISM & ISPS audits, both on board of the ships and in the offices van P&O Nedlloyd & Maersk.- Project Leader in the change over process to the management system as used within Maersk Line: Global Ship Management System (GSMS).- Nautical/navigational expert, maintaining and optimizing the vessel’s libraries such as national and international rules and regulations, including electronic navigation systems.- Expert on ship’s stability systems, monitoring and giving input for the development of stability systems for ship’s use.- Cargo Expert, involved in the development of new or improved container lashing systems.

End responsibility for the management of the ship. Managing the vessel in an economical, safe and secure way. Taking care of the environment, where costs and schedule reliability are of utmost importance.

Conducting internal ISM/HSE audits on board the vessels owned or managed by P&O Nedlloyd B.V.

Navigational duties. Responsible for the cargo stowage and stability. Responsible for the deck and accommodation maintenance. Medical and First Aid Officer. Member of the ship’s staff.

- Investigation into outsourcing the technical maintenance of owned trucks and trailers to 3rd parties.- Investigation into relocation possibilities of the warehouse in Roosendaal in order to improve the infrastructure.- Improving the internal warehouse logistics.
