The team provide and manage off-site, turn-key Hardware in the Loop (HiL) rigs to clients in the automotive sector. I managed the hardware and software configuration of a powertrain rig using the new dSpace platform SCALEXIO. I was also involved in the testing and maintaining of a full vehicle HiL rig for systems integration validation. My experience of Matlab coding was employed for tool integration and development including a post processing tool-set for automated analysis.

This short-term contract involved the validation of “Generic Software” for applications across multiple transmission control projects. I also configured and administrated a static analysis tool for Simulink/TargetLink models which ensured models met the company, and MISRA, style guidelines.

Development of Simulink/Targetlink models for hybrid vehicle powertrain control. Responsible for design of Simulink/Targetlink models from specification, the auto-coding of models to C code, their unit testing in SiL/MiL environments and further model validation using plant-controller models when required.

This role was concerned with the validation and development of engine control strategies. Models developed in the Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow enviroment were autocoded and tested in a HiL rig (dSpace). This role also included model development from specification, analysis of logged data, creation and execution of test plans and on machine testing. More complex validation led me to use offline verification methods to prove out models using logged data.

This contract role involved the simulation, design, build and testing of a Safety Instrumented System for the protection of personnel in a laser testing facility. The system was required to meet SIL 2 and comply with IEC 61508.
