U. S. Air Force Research Laboratory Project Experience • Directed research and development programs in aerospace electrical power systems and components.• System experience in satellite power system, space based directed energy weapons, space radar power distribution systems, aircraft electronic warfare systems, spacecraft arcjet propulsion, hypersonic vehicle electrical power systems.• Largest project managed was the $10 million Hypersonic Vehicle Electrical Power System (HVEPS) program from 2001 to 2007. HVEPS studied the application of magnetohydrodynamic generators powered directly from the hypersonic exhaust of the vehicle scramjet. A small scale generator completed test and produced power under hypersonic flow from a scramjet simulation wind tunnel at the United Technology Research Center December 2006 in Hartford Connecticut. The prime contractor for HVEPS was General Atomics of San Diego with subcontract tasks conducted by University of Tennessee Space Institute and Lytec LLC in Tullahoma TN, W.J. Schaffer of Alexandria VA, Boeing in St Louis MO., and United Technology Research Center in Hartford CT.• Directed study programs that analyzed and developed computer simulations of power sources, power converters, and distribution for aircraft power systems, satellite power systems, directed energy weapon power system, and electric vehicle power system.Specialties:1) Engineering Analysis and Consulting2) Program Management: Budget Planning, Contract Preparation, Proposal Evaluation, Technical Reviews, Technical Report Editing and Acceptance.
