We depict messages and stories for broad audiences by connecting new techniques to substantive stories and exciting experience concepts. Active participation and audience reach are the keywords in many of our productions. We have experience with the use of artificial intelligence, motion detection and virtual and augmented reality techniques in public experiences.

In 2004 René initiated Pleinmuseum Foundation. Pleinmuseum Foundation holds the intellectual and artistic property of the projects that are realized in collaboration with DROPSTUFF MEDIA. René van Engelenburg (b. 1977) designs 'public projects': installations and performances in public spaces and temporary architectural objects based on modern museological principles. His projects aim to create an overall experience in which the exhibition or presentation is viewed as a pre-eminently communicative act. Through calculated interventions in existing spaces and situations, he injects new impulses into jaded conventions: commonplaces and everyday objects and routines that normally pass by unremarked and unnoticed take on a different aspect, become intensified or are given a new life. Van Engelenburg's work is multidisciplinary: he straddles the boundaries between visual art, architecture and design; his role is comparable to that of an art director or producer. Functionality is an important basic principle in his projects, and yet the work is ultimately a purely autonomous statement.
