Founded by Philips. NXP Semiconductors is the former semiconductor branch of Philips ElectronicsAs Project Leader I was involved in starting up projects and directing them to the manufacturing stage. Team size of 5 to 10 people. Project duration of 6 to 9 months. Budget of € 0.5 to €1M. Teams consisted of members from IC design, Product Engineering, Test Engineering, Foundry, Quality Assurance and Marketing.Recent projects include a negative voltage capable audio switch and high voltage LED-drivers (30V and higher)Responsibilities: • Team lead • Communication with all parties involved • Report progress to program manager • Definition of project scope • Definition of product specifications • Initiate Qualification Plan and Test Plan • Correct documentation of project gates and milestonesAs IC Design Engineer I was responsible for a large number of IC designs varying from simple inverters in supermicron processes, to complete low-voltage and low-dissipation logic families and complex power switches and USB switches in submicron processes.Responsibilities: • Schematic design • Analog simulation and verification of design • Mask layout design • Align testability and test coverage with product engineering • Risk analysis (FMEA) • Verifying package models (Thermal and Electrical) • IBIS model creationBesides these two main functions I was also involved continual improvement of the way of working, and the procedures of the department. • As head of the First Pass Yield improvement team helped to successfully increase FPY scores. • Created and maintained quality checklists • Member of procedural improvement team to increase time-to-market and quality

Responsible for layout and testability of ASIC designs• Synthesis and layout of VHDL blocks, including: • Floorplan and layout of ASIC • Determine testability and test coverage • Communicate hand-over to foundry and test fab (S-Korea)
