I have always believed that we were all created to be connected.I want to know your story and I feel love and acceptance in return when you carefully listen to my dreams and ideas.So when I realised as a young child that my father could not hear, my first instinct was to protect and accommodate him.A passion to work with people made the choice to become a Speech Therapist and Audiologist a no- brainer career choice.Two years spent in Bloemfontein in the then Orange Freestate Province at the practice of lovely Annette Small-Smith gave me my first experiences as a Speech Therapist and I loved functional voice therapy.I giggle when I think of the tiny little screwdriver that I used to turn the one of two trimmers on analogue hearing aids in an effort to set sound to a comfortable level for our hearing instrument users.How things have evolved since then! This is exactly what I love about being an Audiologist.At Reneé Verson Audiologists we have been helping people hear their world better since 1995!We implemented a newborn hearing screening program in local hospitals.We were involved in Industrial Hearing Screening as well as diagnostic testing of employees suffering from noise induced hearing loss.We are passionate about prevention of hearing loss and are involved in school screening programs .In a typical day at the practice our youngest patient may be a week old with the older folk reaching the nineties.I am humbled by the privelidge to walk with each and every one of them on their journey to better hearing and balance.I am blessed in abundance to be part of a super supportive team consisting of audiologists and patient care frontline support personnel, a hearing screening assistant as well as an audiometrist and head of accounting.I am the proud mother of two beautiful, talented children.I am a breast cancer survivor. I am often a listening ear.Some people wonder why they tell me the things they do. If I were to rename my practice or describe my life in one word, it would be called Graceland.
