Confer with the Councillor on a daily basis regarding activities in the city and districtDiscuss/research possible legislative remedies to problems in the district Manage constituent services (i.e. calls, walk-ins, questions from residents met in the community)Hire, motivate, train and evaluate staffRepresent the Councillor at regular hearings before the Boston Redevelopment Authority, Zoning Board of Appeals, Licensing Boards, and monthly community meetings, as well as at special meetings in the community and at various city and state boards and authorities

Provide constituent services to residents of the Councillor’s district (i.e. put residents in touch with city services, explain city ordinances/laws)Represent the Councillor at formal hearings of various city and state agenciesFacilitate negotiations between developers and community residentsResearch city ordinances and state laws relating to various issues including housing, zoning, transportation, licensing, and the environment
