About Renjith A.R

I am pursuing a doctoral degree in structural dynamics, with research focused on nonlinear normal modes and the flexible multibody dynamics of thin, highly flexible structures, utilizing both computational and experimental techniques. My fields of interest include solid mechanics, nonlinear vibrations, composite structures, absolute nodal coordinate formulation (ANCF), finite element modeling, and vibration experimentation. The thesis topic mainly focuses on the steady-state nonlinear dynamics of thin, long, and highly flexible cantilever beams of higher aspect ratios (length-to-thickness ratio). Also, the nonlinear normal mode evaluation using computations (Harmonic Balance Method, Time Variational Method) and experiments.I have approximately six years of industrial experience with the CAE teams at Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd and Atlas Copco India Ltd. My primary role involved ensuring the structural durability of various components in automobile body systems and several components within industrial compressors.I am proficient in FEA solvers, including ABAQUS, MSC Nastran, Patran, FEMFAT, and Hypermesh, and I use Python and MATLAB for computational tasks. My vibration experimental techniques include free vibration tests with an impact hammer, harmonic response evaluation using an electrodynamic shaker, and experimental nonlinear normal mode extraction using phase resonance approaches utilizing accelerometers and a laser vibrometer.
