Prior to launching her eponymous jewelry line, Renna Taher honed her eye in the jewelry department at Sotheby’s in New York. Having conditioned, researched and written about thousands of jewels, Renna had a hands on education. Immersed in a playground of the highest examples of design from jewelry past, her desire to create something of her own one day slowly grew. Renna believes that jewelry is so much more than precious metals and gemstones. Jewelry is a reminder of a moment in time, a recollection of a day, a memory, the person who gave it to you, a graduation, a birthday. Renna grew up in Pacific Palisades, California. Her line is centered around two coffee bean shells her mother and her discovered at Salt Creek Beach in Laguna one summer morning. Her mother made the original pieces of shell jewelry which Renna has treasured for over a decade.
