At the Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Science (LIACS) I work on a project related to analyzing tactics in football based on positional data.

In a multi-disciplinary consortium, we research resilience (in sports) from the perspectives of psychologists, physiologists and data scientists. See https://project-ris.nl/ for more information.

I am involved in running and assisting with various research projects in which we look at how collision avoidance between two or more walkers is achieved. In particular, we are interested in when and how multiple co-actors are treated as one or as separate instances to avoid collision with. Secondly, we are interested in what visual information allows for these actions.In order to assess these research topics we have access to both a large motion capture setup and a virtual reality environment. We use these settings to assess the behavioral responses in specific experiments.

As a teaching assistant I'm supervising various practical sessions at the school of physical education, sport and exercise sciences. At a 100- and 200- level these sessions involve phyisology, biomechanics and motor control & learning. (PHSE 102 & PHSE 202)

As a PhD candidate I'm researching the coupling between perception and action in a dynamic whole-body task. My focus lies on what visual information can be accessed to guide back- and forward follower-leader coupling.

For High Performance New Zealand I work as a freelance reviewer. I review newly available research in light of what implications it might have for high performance coaches.
