I have joined eBay Classifieds as an executive leader in charge of three Global Platform Engineering teams with over 20 engineers and in charge of the Global Architecture Team. The Global Platform Engineering teams are responsible for creating and operating our most key services like Chat, Identity, Data ingestion and Kubernetes cluster.I am also responsible for defining an architecture strategy for the 12 different classifieds platforms (marktplaats, tweedehands, gumtree uk/au, kijiji canada/italy, dba and mobile.de) next to several global components managed by my teams.As part of creating the Architecture discipline in eCG I am coordinating over 40 architects from all locations over the world. At Oberasoftware I am responsible for building next generation innovative products targeting new innovations happening in the industry. Currently I am working on innovations in the field of Internet of Things and Home Automation, making it accessible for the masses. Next to this we are also still working on our own open-source NoSQL solution called JasDB. In my role as CTO I am responsible for setting out the vision of the company and defining our product roadmap. Building a new team of Java developers for creating the next generation SDL Tridion Suite

In this job my main responsibilities are to lead a small team of 5 Java developers where we use Agile methodologies like SCRUM and Kanban to manage the priorities. I have introduced the usage of the SCRUM into the organisation where before they were using no agile project methodologies.In Infohubble I have put my expertise in NoSQL and GRID based technologies to use by building a scalable GRID computing service in the Amazon EC2 environment with my team. Next to building scalable GRID services I have architected a Workflow Engine that is capable of running the Infohubble Data production processes in fully automated mode. This workflow engine is using techniques like the disruptor framework, NoSQL JasDB datastore and Spring Web MVC for the frontend.

I am a Principal Java developer at SDL Tridion Development Lab in Amsterdam and am as product lead responsible for the Content Delivery product. In the team my responsibilities range from setting out the technical vision for the product as also getting requirements clear in cooperation with our product managers. My day to day work entails coaching and guiding my team into designing and developing functionality for our Tridion Content Delivery platform. The main technology the team and I work with is Java with Spring, JPA and hibernate as the foundation.The most interesting project has been the implementation of a new architecture based on JPA, Spring and Hibernate and on top a REST based webservice. In this project my role as product lead has been to design the architecture and break down into stories me and the team could implement in our SCRUM sprints. In the actual sprints my role was to be both coach, designer and also help with implementing the architecture.More interesting jobs I did at SDL Tridion are implementing a .NET / Java interop technology enabling communication between our .NET API and Java API. Also I designed and implemented Intelligent navigation on our presentation system API enabling Taxonomy/Facetted navigation. Next to this i have also built up expertise in build-environments (CruiseControl / Hudson / Maven / Ant) and quality analysis using software code metrics.
