Renee is a Sustainability and Environmental Specialist with international and domestic port experience. With over 20 years of professional experience, Renee has worked in regulatory, advisory and operational roles in Australia and Canada.Renee holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) and has recently completed Executive Education with Cambridge University. Over the last 17 years, Renee has specialised in the port sector - focusing on sustainability, environmental management, safety management, major project approvals and governance - including 5 years at Port of Brisbane (Australia), DP World (Canada) and over 7 years with private consultancies Sprott Planning and Environment and GHD.In September 2023, Renee was appointed to the role 'Sustainability/ESG Specialist' at North Queensland Bulk Ports (NQBP) - a Queensland based Government Owned Corporation with 4 trading ports. Three of these ports are with the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area (GBRWHA).Renee has travelled extensively within the port sector to the Netherlands, New Zealand, USA, Switzerland, Belgium and Noway. She has attended, spoken and designed workshops at the global GreenPort Congresses in Amsterdam (2017), Baltimore (2018), Oslo (2019) and helped to facilitate workshops in Bruges (2022) - focusing on port sustainability and the importance of robust strategy development. Renee also attended the United Nations meeting in Geneva (2019) on the importance of Sustainable Development Goals in the port sector.Renee co-authored the National Port Industry guidelines on 'Sustainability Strategy Development'. During her time in the private sector, Renee's clients have included: Ports Australia, Queensland Ports Association, Commonwealth Government, Napier Port (NZ), Port of Brisbane, Ports North, Port of Townsville, Gladstone Ports Corporation, NQBP, Dalrymple Bay Infrastructure, Southern Ports and Transport for NSW.
