As the cluster lead for the Category Strategy team, we specialised in diagnosing supply market risks and opportunities. Our approach involved developing a tailored action plan—referred to as the Healthcare Plan—that strategically addressed challenges and capitalised on opportunities across the short, medium, and long term.

I identified and drove initiatives aimed at improving Novo Nordisk’s leverage over its suppliers within the direct spend portfolio. These initiatives included a supplier cashback scheme and 3rd to 4th tier commodity sourcing. Additionally, I established a sourcing academy and recommended improvements to in-house procurement policies.

I was responsible for identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives within Novo Nordisk's US-based manufacturing and sales organisation. This was achieved through supplier rationalisation and leveraging on supply chain synergies between the two Novo Nordisk entities

I was responsible for identifying and implementing procurement initiatives within Novo Nordisk's Brazil-based manufacturing and sales organisations, leading to supplier consolidation and joint contracting of distribution and warehousing services. We supported the South African sales organisation to drive out cost within their cold chain distribution activities.

I was the overall category responsible for distribution. Highlights included the establishment of Scandinavia's first 4PL service provider and the company's first global export hub

I supported the Primary Packaging category - highlights included; developing a sourcing strategy leading to the outsourcing the company's in-house caps manufacturing unit.

I supported procurement projects for a number household names across the following business verticals and categories: • Health & Leisure, Frankfurt, Germany (Electricity, Cleaning Services) • Financial Services, London, UK (IT Services) • DIY Retailer, Amsterdam/Brussels, The Netherlands (DIY Products)

I was lead analyst for a 100m USD application development / application maintenance IT procurement.

This was a rotational graduate scheme, with each 6-month rotation period placed in various areas of the Source to Category Management value chain.

Learnt to love contracts and the process of building robust ones from the ground up.
