About George Catone

George Catone, an Arizona-registered architect since 1998, founded the design firm Reset Studios in 2005. George designs homes, commercial projects and public architecture. He has a strong arts-based background and engages in a broad range of design activities and relationships that fuel creativity and energize the practice.A native of Pittsburgh, he received his professional degrees from Kent State University and spent the first part of his career in Pennsylvania designing large educational facilities. Relocating to Phoenix in 1996, he worked as second-in-command for two of the Valley’s signature boutique architectural design firms before launching his own studio. His success is built on bringing to every client not only award-winning design capabilities but also the effective construction detailing skills that make a design able to be built on a budget. He’s Pittsburgh practical and doesn’t dream on the client’s dime. Clients say George’s commitment to their projects is unparalleled. They choose to work with him again — and again — citing his fresh design solutions, integrity, amiability and willingness to go the extra creative mile (two if necessary). But then that’s just clients talking.Since opening the studio back in 2005, Reset Studios has been involved in the various stages of design, documentation, and construction administration of over 2,560,000 square feet of residential and commercial construction, totaling more than $259,270,640 of construction cost in progress. Senior Architect

Washington, Dc, Us

George Catone assumed duties with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on 21 June 2010 as the first-ever senior architect of the Phoenix Vertical Design Section for the Sacramento District Military Design Branch. His responsibilities include leading the upstart local studio group of engineers through design and production of Military and IIS design projects. Notable projects for these programs include design of Military projects at Imperial Beach, Camp Pendleton, Fort Huachuca, Fort Bliss and Pinal Air Park, as well as multiple design projects at Fort Irwin and Davis Monthan AFB, and most notably a significant amount of design work at Nellis AFB. George was instrumental in establishing the Sacramento District as a key design resource to help service the large backlog of Veteran’s Affairs Health Care design work. Working in conjunction with Sacramento District leaders, George is an original and key member of the newly-created health care team that delivered the design of the 17,500 SF Behavioral Health building, the 16,000 SF CLC, and four other smaller projects for VA Loma Linda; a large code analysis of the entire 770,000 SF facility at VA San Diego; and the preparation of multiple scopes of work for VA Long Beach. George has been instrumental in the transformation of the now formidable Phoenix Vertical Design Group, securing $5.2M in design fees for the District, and involved in $374.3M of construction activity to date.Additionally, George served as the Acting Assistant Branch Chief in charge of 100+ staff architects and engineers, has successfully completed the Leadership Development Program Tiers 1 and 3, attended the Government Affairs Institute at Georgetown University, was selected as a design team member from HQ for the 2030 International Design Competition, and served as a Contract Officer Representative on projects sizes ranging from $250,000 to $285 million.
